IMVU is a social app where users can create 3D avatars and interact with other users in virtual locations. In this app, users can personalize their avatar by purchasing clothes and accessories through the in-app currency known as “credits”.

IMVU is available for both desktop and mobile devices. The desktop version can be run on any modern computer. However, to make the most of IMVU, it is recommended to have at least a Windows 7 OS, 512 MB RAM, and 2 GB free storage space. Fortunately, IMVU doesn’t require a powerful processor and video card.
How to Use
IMVU is a very elaborate graphical chatroom. Instead of just conversing with others through texts, the 3D avatars all exist in 3D environments where everything that the user types shows up as speech bubble over their heads. There is a wide variety of environments and themes to choose from such as horror houses, gardens, and even tropical beaches.
Graphics and Speed
The concept of the app is very interesting, but it is hampered by frequent lags and slowdowns. The assets can also take a while to load. That said, the app does have amazing graphics. The clothes and furniture are well-designed, and the 3D environments look very real and lifelike.
Good Concept, Subpar Execution
Despite the slow responsiveness of the app’s interface, IMVU is still a great app to try out due to the wide variety of environments to explore. If you’re looking for a messenger app that you can also play like The Sims, IMVU is the one you want.
