Problems and limitations

The main issue presented by this programme is that it no longer works with the current version of Chrome or is supported. You have to go back to one of the previous website editions from before 2017 to get ARC Welder to work.

Arc also only supports one programme at a time, as it will uninstall the previous one each time you install a new one. It also only works with Android apps built for version 4.4 and onwards, limiting the testing of older programmes.

The user interface is not the greatest, but it isn’t bad either. Downloading and installing the application can be a bit of a chore, as you must set it up as an extension in Chrome. Once you get it up, running the app will require you to have the programme’s APK file.

When you open the app with Welder, you will have to set up the programme specifications. Installing is a slow process compared to other apps like Bluestacks, as you will have to run through this installation each time you want to use a new application.

Bluestacks is a great option to consider, excelling in every way possible. It has much more flexibility with formats. It is not the fastest or easiest option available: however, it is known for its all-around ability to perform.

MEmu is known for its speed and ease of use, especially when compared to the unintuitive ARC. The programme has its own store that one can use to download the games directly. It also supports many more options when it comes to Android systems.

Out of date

The programme has little relevance in the field of emulators due to its lack of updates. If you need to work with Android applications on your computer, there are better options that will require much less effort and work better.
